Starting with your arrival in Delhi, we move to Dehradun, we head out to the foothills near Mussoorie for our Bird Watching and Bird Photography expeditions. We can get lucky with plenty of passerine birds, raptors, predators like panthers and leopards and perhaps a ber or two also.
Itineraries
Day 1
Respective Destinations to New Delhi
As soon as you arrive in New Delhi from your destination, we meet you at your port of arrival and escort you to the hotel for an overnight halt.
Day 2
New Delhi to Dehradun
We depart from the hotel by 0500 Hrs to board the Shatabdi Express for Dehradun, arriving there by 1200 Hrs.
We board the waiting cabs and travel to the campsite in the mountains for the birding expedition.
Arrive at the campsite by 1400 hrs check-in, freshen up, and meet for lunch. The rest of the day will be yours to spend the way you like.
Dinner will be an inhouse affair, preceded by a campfire session.
Day 3
Birding in and around the campsite.
We start the day with breakfast and then head out for the birding trail around the campsite.
Return to the campsite for lunch and some rest before heading out again to click some more photos of the feathered beauties.
We return to the campsite for the ritual campfire and dinner.
Day 4
Birding in Benog WLS
We depart after breakfast and head out to the Benog sanctuary about 10 km away.
It is mainly known for its rare species of birds.
The diversity of birds found in this area are mountain quails, red-billed blue magpie, white-capped water redstart, and many more.
The sanctuary is also home to different species of wild animals like the deer, leopards, Ghurul (goat), Panthers, and Himalayan bears.
We return to the campsite by evening and rest up for a while before the campfire & dinner.
Day 5
Brentwood to Maldevta
We check out of the campsite at 0700 Hrs and depart for Maldevta., arriving at the destination in about 2 hours and check into a campsite for an overnight halt.
With 98 recorded species of birds, including Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon, Greater Yellownape, Great Slaty Woodpecker, Crested Kingfisher, Indian Pitta, Sirkeer Malkoha, Maroon Oriole, Orange-bellied Leafbird, Wallcreeper, Red Avadavat, rock Bunting, Green-tailed Sunbird, European Goldfinch, we should be in for a treat!
After an exhaustive exploration of the place in search of our feathered friends, we return to the campsite for some rest, followed by dinner.
Day 6
Maldevta to Dehradun Railway Station
After a relaxed breakfast, we take another stroll in search of birds and return to the campsite in time for lunch.
Post lunch, we pack our bags and head out to the Railway station, where we bid you farewell as you board the train for New Delhi, and carry on further with your onward journeys.
